Cannelli Printing

Lithography

1. The art or process of putting writing or designs on a metal, plastic or paper plate and producing printed impressions therefrom. The process depends upon the antipathy between grease and water, which prevents a printing ink containing oil from adhering to wetted parts of the plate not covered by the design. In offset lithography, the ink is transferred from the plate to a rubber blanket and then to the paper.
