Many hours were spent going back and forth about design/paper stock/technique for our 2020 Holiday Card. We changed our minds countless times and realized that we are our own worst customer. Our goal is to always feature some of our specialty printing offerings and this year we decided to feature engraving – particularly gold engraving.
The front of the card is simple with the message “Season’s Greetings” engraved in gold and there is a die cut circle allowing for the ornament artwork on the inside to show though.
The inside of the card has our holiday message also engraved in gold. The ornament was printed in CMYK and then gold engraved. We die cut the ornament shape and tied a piece of gold elastic to each one. Glue dots were applied to the back side of the ornament and we hand placed each ornament inside the card.
When you remove the ornament the background of the card was printed to mimic wrapping paper, using a miniature ornament pattern.

For the envelope we decided to make a custom A7. We printed the ornament pattern on flat sheets and die cut and glued them to create a completely custom envelope.
We wanted our return address to be very subtle, so we foil stamped the address using clear foil on the envelope flap.
